Application Overview (featuring BabyG) and Outtakes

Having been a Jamberry consultant since March 2015, and noticing that many people get intimidated by doing their wraps and/or have benefited from some simple tips and tricks I have accumulated, I decided it was time to post my own application video. To distinguish it from the million other Jamberry tutorial videos on the internet, I exploited showcased my darling BabyG. The video is about 6 minutes long, and you will likely need to view it twice if you're really trying to learn from it, as G is quite the scene-stealer in a few parts. There aren't close-ups in this video, so go to my Detailed Tutorial post for a bulleted list of steps and associated tips, with mini, short close-up clips of doing my own nails. I figured the overview might be a good start, but for applying your own wraps it would be helpful to have everything broken down.

Hostess of the Month Discount Club

Trouble-shooting

Having been a consultant now for almost a year, I know the typical complaints about Jamberry, I thought it would be helpful to list them out and quickly address each one. First of all, the bottom line is that I have found the following points to be crucial in ensuring a good and lasting application for anyone:

1. Properly selecting and sizing each wrap. I will be working on a video in the next month to make this step fool-proof if you're having trouble.
2. Removing ALL oils from your fingers (hence washing with dish soap and using an alcohol wipe), and NOT touching the sticky side of the wrap with anything oily (hence my use of tweezers).
3. Heating technique - see Step 7 from my tutorial post.

These three key factors of application will in most cases prevent the typical complaints below, but I have added additional notes to each in case you are still having trouble and need further help:

• Lifting or bubbling on the edges. This typically occurs a few hours or overnight after the application. So you finish applying your nails, thinking they look amazing, then wake up to see them bubbling up everywhere and/or lifting on the outer edges.
• Make sure you are filing gently downward (not any other direction), and ONLY once the wrap is cool. It can be a good idea to first file with a regular nail file and then follow up with a glass nail file which will leave your tips with a finer edge that won't catch as easily on hair, etc.
• Use the baggy method (Step 10 in the tutorial) to give an extra good seal on the wrap, especially on the tips.
• Wraps falling off. Try applying the Smoothing Base Coat (or any ridge-filling base coat) on your nails prior to applying your wraps. And then get back to me to let me know whether that helped or not!
• Wrinkles - If you are heating/applying pressure as I have outlined in Step 7 of my tutorial and you are still having wrinkle trouble, I want you to contact me. I don't think it should be happening. I have some ideas (followed by a video clip) you can try below (which I used to use before I discovered Step 7), but still contact me, because I want to know.
• Use tweezers to gently pull the excess wrap out and towards the center of your nail to stretch out the wrap a bit over the tip of your nail.
• Heat the tip of your scissors directly on the heater and use the pointy end to carefully iron out the wrinkle.
• After completing all wraps, try the baggy method in Step 10 of the tutorial which can help some more.

The last word I have on this topic deserves repeating: practice, practice, practice. Your application WILL get better if you keep working on it and tweaking what you are doing. Not trying because it didn't work perfectly once or twice is called giving up and it is unacceptable! If you love adorable nails and want to have them, keep at it! I am here for you and I won't give up either - I will keep working with you until we have you loving your nails!
